2009 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class GL320
Bought Certified PreOwned last year and has 2 years and 50K miles remaining on Mercedes warranty. It is garage-kept and we are nonsmokers. It is flawless inside and out and maintenance is always done by Mercedes dealers.
There is no other SUV on the market like this one. It has turbocharged V-6 engine under the hood that runs on clean diesel. The main reason for offering the model is fuel economy, and the GL320 scores big on that point. With an EPA rating of 18 mpg city/24 highway it gets 33 percent better mileage than the gasoline-powered GL450 and is the equal of the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, which is listed at 20 mpg across the board. I cruise at 70 on interstate and get 25 mpg. I have not reset mpg calculator since I bought it and have averaged 23 mpg since I bought it last year.
It has a seven speed automatic transmission driven with 398 ft-pounds of torque so it pulls strong all the way to highway speed. It can tow 7500 lbs with equipped tow package and barely break a sweat. I have a smaller ML with same drivetrain that pulls my 7000 lb travel trailer with no problems at all. This SUV is unmatched for a 7 seater when you take into consideration towing capacity and gas mileage for everyday cruising–and the tubo diesel is just a blast to drive. You will get odd looks when you pull up to the diesel pump. My wife has been stopped several times by concerned citizens thinking she is putting in the wrong type fuel.
Vehicle history shows accident by previous owner. Higginbotham Mercedes in Jackson, MS stated it was minor damage to rear bumber that was repaired. Dealer stated the “car could not have passed inspection and sold to me as Certified Pre-Owned if it had any structural damage”.
